A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

Sweet Little Rose Cakery started out as a maternity leave adventure. I have always been a keen baker since a child (I have my mummy to thank for that) and it is something that has remained a passion. I am self taught and from my teenage years to present day, I can be found tucked up in bed at night with another baking book to add to the never ending collection. And I am so proud to say the baking bug has been passed onto my kids, particularly the eldest.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

When my little Bella was born she was dairy intolerant. As I was breast-feeding her, I had to remove all dairy from my diet. I was so fed up having to by pass or say no to yummy treats as they contained dairy so …. I decided to experiment with diary free and gluten diary baking myself. Family and friends starting asking me to bake from them and with much encouragement from my fiancé, my new business was born. The name of my cakery is very dear to my heart as it is named after our little baby Rose who we lost at the start of the pandemic back in 2020.

I really stepped up my baking and it was my therapy to cope with my loss and a way to find a little inner peace. Grief comes in waves and catches you by surprise. I wanted to do something and turn the sadness into smiles. And those smiles soon mended a broken heart and low and behold we were blessed with our rainbow baby. So here I am, making a mess in my kitchen, with happiness in my heart.
